About

The increasing complexity of infrastructure projects has raised the demand for high-strength concrete, but traditional mixes face issues like high permeability and porosity. Micro Silica (Silica Fume) is often used to address these, improving strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. However, Micro Silica is costly and limited in supply, as it’s primarily imported, making prices volatile.

To solve this, Navocem Infra Industries has developed NAVOSIL™, a cost-effective alternative that delivers performance equal to or better than Micro Silica in concrete mixes, enhancing workability and compressive strength.

Navosil

After a decade of research, we developed NAVOSIL™, a supplementary cementitious material made from aggregate waste and a proprietary activator. Through advanced processing, NAVOSIL™ gains cementitious properties, offering a highly reactive alternative to Micro Silica or ultrafine slag in high-strength concrete applications (40-100 MPa). Its unique particle size distribution enhances strength and performance. NAVOSIL™ is both cost-effective and sustainable, with a patent currently pending approval.

Note: Test multiple aggregate waste from different region to see the viability of the product. And mention the same in a generic way.

Application

Navosil has a varied set of applications, such as:

Alternate Uses

Ongoing research is exploring the use of NAVOSIL in lower-strength concrete (target strength of 20 to 25 MPa), with promising results thus far. The tests have demonstrated that this concrete mix not only achieves comparable strength but also reduces the amount of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) required, leading to significant cost savings.

Mixing Instructions

Typically used at 4-10% by weight of cement or cementitious material, depending on the specific requirements. The optimal dose of NAVOSIL should be determined through trials using locally available cement, sand, and aggregates.

NAVOSIL should always be added during the early stages of concrete mixing process along with cement and other supplementary cementitious materials.
