During the OPC cement production process, the carbon emissions are on account of 3 major processes, i.e., Calcination (56%), Fuel Consumption (32%) and Electricity Consumption (12%). The net carbon emissions for production of 1 Tonne of OPC cement is 660 Kgs of CO2.

During the production process of Navocem, the above carbon emissions are reduced drastically, as the need for Calcination is done away with. Further, due to sustainable production practices, the fuel consumption is also nullified. This results in 88% saving of Carbon Emissions, as compared to OPC cement.
